Endangered Species is a 2 Part documentary series. It is part of a larger project by award-winning photojournalist Sudharak Olwe. Malnutrition is a looming threat over the lives of millions of India's children in rural and tribal areas. Failure to tackle this menace has resulted in extremely vulnerable communities and impact on local development and economy.

The first part of the docu-series explores the issue of Malnutrition in the Tea Garden Labour populations, one of the most marginalized communities in the country, the prevalence of Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM), unequal distribution of services in Muslim majority districts and Bodoland territory and the lack of health workers and services in some of the worst-hit districts of Assam.
“First Citizens” is the second part of the Docu-Series. India’s Indigenous tribes or Adivasis as they are commonly known have a history that stretches over thousands of years. The film explores the tribal belt of India and looks at the historical injustices done towards the tribes, the current state and lack of support systems for good hygiene and health education. This has resulted in the most vulnerable tribes going back to superstition and bringing ancient tribes on the brink of extinction.
The PPT is a non-profit organisation that uses the skills of photography to create definitive change in the lives of socially marginalised communities and promotes Social documentary photography.
The Trailer for the series was launched at TEDx Gateway 2020 in Mumbai at the NSCI Dome. The first part was released on TheWire.in official Youtube Channel and was also covered By FirstPost Online, The New Indian Express, Fountain Ink and other media houses.
